Visit Reiman Gardens for an exciting three-part mini-series where you’ll explore the fascinating world of remote sensing and its power in understanding our environment. Whether you’re a curious student (14+) or an adult passionate about nature and technology, this program is perfect for you!

What You Will Need:

  • Laptop or tablet that can connect to the internet
  • Basic knowledge of computers (no advanced skills required)
  • Free access to online mapping tools (we’ll provide recommendations)

Everything else will be provided during the sessions. No prior experience with remote sensing is necessary!

Topics Covered:

  • Session 1: Introduction to Remote Sensing – Learn how various wavelengths and materials interact with objects to reflect or absorb different colors of light.
  • Session 2: Monitoring Plant Health and Urban Planning Applications – Learn to use satellite images to calculate vegetation greenness and compare different types of images.
