About the play: To save their sacred home, these devout sisters must commit a surprising sin.
In this fast-paced farce, accusations, disguises, and unexpected romances collide at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing. Two reporters (and former fiances) go undercover to uncover the convent’s secret wine operation, sparking chaos and suspicion. As new “nuns” arrive and rumors abound, wine and secrets spill in an inevitable scramble to save the convent.

Sister Philamena (female, 20s-50s) – One of the nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing who has secretly been making wine for several years with Sister Augusta to keep the convent open. Devout, dedicated to her calling, joyful, humorous, often at a loss for words, and incapable of lying.
Sister Augusta (female, 20s-50s) – Another nun at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing who has secretly been making wine for several years with Sister Philamena to keep the convent open. Sharp, quick-thinking, and more assertive than Sister Philamena.
George (male, 20s) – Groundskeeper and gardener at the convent. Sweet, gentle, and good-natured. He’s a little slow on the uptake, but is willing to help the sisters with anything.
Mother Superior (female, 40s-60s) – Head of the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing. Holier than thou, intimidating, and pious. Hates alcohol, especially wine.
Paul (male, 24) – Smart, love-struck newspaper reporter. Co-worker and former fiancé of Sally. An orphan. He’s a good writer but his conscience sometimes gets in the way of his reporting.
Sally (female, 20s) – Award-winning, quick-witted, ambitious, and sharp-tongued reporter. Paul’s former fiancée who left him at the altar to chase a scoop. Infiltrates the convent disguised as a nun.
Sister Mary Catherine (female, 24) – An earnest, meek, and timid novice sent by Cardinal Redding to finish her training. Pretends to be a full nun and is terrified of being sent away. Also an orphan.
Father Chenille (male, 40s-60s) – Priest of the local parish next door to the convent. Patient, understanding, and a bit clumsy. An amateur ex-magician. He panics thinking Rome sent Father Paul to usurp his parish.
