Speaker: Darcy Maulsby, Iowa journalist and historian
Nothing says freedom like the great American road trip, especially when you cruise the historic Lincoln Highway in Iowa. Known as Highway 30, the Lincoln Highway revolutionized our state and country when it was developed more than a century ago. Travelers on interstates (or any paved road) owe a debt of gratitude to the visionaries who promoted the Lincoln Highway as a way to connect the country. An amazing slice of Iowa history is the story of its development – a story of American innovation, community spirit and freedom.
