
In collaboration with pianist Jodi Goble, this recital features songs from Molly Fillmore’s soon-to-be-released Regency-era English song album on the PARMA record label (which also features ISU’s Shelby van Nordstrand). The recital includes opera arias and additional art songs. Ms. Fillmore will be joined by Shelby VanNordstrand, soprano, and Samantha Schmitz, mezzo-soprano, for select numbers.
Molly Fillmore is Professor of Voice and Chair of the Division of Vocal Studies at the University of North Texas College of Music. Career highlights include singing Helmwige in Der Ring Der Nibelungen, a principal role in Satyagraha by Phillip Glass, all at The Metropolitan Opera, and Salome at the San Francisco Opera. Fillmore has enjoyed an international career in both mezzo-soprano and dramatic soprano repertoire, including five seasons as the principal soloist in the ensemble of Oper Der Stadt Köln. You can hear her on numerous recordings, including “Bold Beauty – Songs of Juliana Hall” and Die Walküre (The Metropolitan Opera).
