Ames Children’s Choirs Spring Concert

Join us for an afternoon of song and celebration! The Ames Children’s Choirs will present their annual Spring Concert on Saturday, May 20, at 3:00 p.m. in Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall in the Simon Estes Music Hall, 2427 Union Drive, Ames. The program repertoire will range from traditional folk songs to living composers including Jacob Narverud, Laura Farnell, Jim Papoulis, and Derrick Fox.  Pieces will be sung in English, Brazilian, Korean, Japanese, Hebrew, French and Swahili. Accompaniment will include piano, mandolin, guitar, violin, flute, and percussion.   The concert will be followed by a reception.

The Ames Children’s Choirs consist of treble ensembles ranging in age from ages 7-18 and hail from various communities including Ames and Story City.
