Eco-friendly Gift Wrapping – Creative Artists’ Studios of Ames
Eco-friendly Gift Wrapping
The Creative Artists’ Studios of Ames (CASA) is hosting drop-in workshops at the Fiber Arts Node (130 S. Sheldon, Suite 203) on Sat., Dec. 14 and 21 from 9 a.m. – noon. and Tuesday., Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Bring a small item to wrap or make a reusable box or bag for enclosing a gift. Experiment with techniques to add texture or pattern to a package. Take home a finished item, or some ideas to try at home. We will look at unusual designs, use of rescued materials, creation of re-usable packaging, selection of eco-friendly materials, and how to re-use or re-cycle package materials when the holiday is over.
You are welcome to bring your own paper or boxes or bags; we will have decorative paper, tape, glue, stickers, buttons, fabric, yarn, twine, bags, and boxes. There will also be tools including a precision paper cutter, and tools for cutting various shapes.
