Goldfinch Room Reunion Festival – Stephens Auditorium

Stephens Auditorium is pleased to announce The Goldfinch Room Reunion Festival, a first-time event over two days with 16 solo artists and three duos in 11 performances on September 28 and 29, 2024. Performances will take place in the Stephens courtyard area and F parking lots. Several songwriting process sessions will be scheduled between stage performances. Festival passes will go on sale on Tuesday, August 27 at 10 a.m. online only at https://www.center.iastate.edu/events/gfrfest
“It’s hard to express the excitement we have for this festival to come together for this September,” said Stephens Auditorium Executive Director, Tammy Koolbeck. “When we reached out to the past Goldfinch Artists, there was such overwhelming response that we added a day and still didn’t have room for everyone who was interested in playing. This festival would not have been possible without grants from Discover Ames and Iowa Arts Council with additional support from Ames Community Arts Council, Doug and Gwenna Jacobson and David and Bonnie Orth.”
Festival passes will range from $30 to $160. Solo artists are paired up for 60-minute sets as are the duos throughout the two days with the final performances of each day being 90-minute sets. Keeping with the Goldfinch Room vibe, some artists will also be hosting 20-minute songwriting process sessions where they will share their personal songwriting methods. These sessions will take place in the Celebrity Café inside Stephens Auditorium between stage performances.
