Reiman Reiman Gardens' popular fall celebration is back Fri. - Sun., Oct. 10 - 12! Featuring more than 1,000 Jack-O-Lanterns hand-carved by volunteers, Spirits in the Gardens has become a central Iowa tradition for Halloween family fun. It's also great for date nights and fun with friends, so come in costume and have a spooky good time!
ISU Wind Ensemble presents their first concert of the season on Fri., Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $10 for the general public. ISU students and youth under 18 are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door prior to the performance.

Led by harmonica master and songwriter Pierre Lacocque, Mississippi Heat is a world-class Chicago Blues Band. Their motto is “Traditional Blues With A Unique Sound” as they present fresh yet vintage-based musical ideas.
The 2025 Ames Artists’ Studio Tour, presented by the Ames Community Arts Council, will be held on Sat., Oct. 11 (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.) and Sun., Oct. 12 (noon - 4 p.m.).
During the studio tour, Fifth Street Writers will offer space and supplies for creatives to create poetry collage postcards and “Tumbling Words Wild Writing” sessions from 11 to noon and 2 to 3 p.m.. We’ll supply a pen and paper.
Ames History Museum will be open 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. with reduced admission!

This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4 - 5 p.m, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week, along with techniques for better dancing. From 5 - 7 p.m, the floor is yours for dancing under Valerie's guidance and for working with different partners. An intermediate-level figure will also be introduced during this time. Wear dancing shoes, smooth-soled shoes, or socks.
