Sign-up to sing at the Cyclone Voice Prelim competition on Tuesday, April 21 in the M-Shop for your chance to become the next CYCLONE VOICE at the main event, hosted by acclaimed indie pop band SAINT MOTEL, on Saturday, May 2 at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Union Great Hall.
"Simon Estes: A Heart & A Voice" is a documentary tracing the extraordinary life of the trailblazing bass‑baritone who broke racial barriers in opera and carried Iowa’s spirit onto the world stage. The film follows Estes’ artistic rise and his far‑reaching humanitarian work. A post‑screening conversation with Estes, moderated by Brad Dell, chair of Iowa State’s Department of Music and Theatre, offers a rare chance to hear directly from the legendary artist.
