Discover the versatility of gouache in this beginner-friendly workshop. Often described as an opaque watercolor, gouache is a vibrant, portable, and easy-to-use medium that is perfect for both new and experienced painters looking to expand their skills.

Students will learn the fundamentals of color theory, including color mixing, matching values, and creating harmonious palettes. Working from observation, participants will develop a simple sketch while receiving step-by-step guidance on building a painting through layered blocks of color. Along the way, the instructor will demonstrate their painting process and share helpful techniques for gaining confidence with this expressive medium. By the end of the workshop, students will have completed a small gouache painting and gained the skills to continue exploring the medium on their own.
