Puppet Making (Grades K–6)
Wed., 4 – 5:30 pm
October 1 – 8 (2 weeks)
$45
Students will explore puppetry as both an art form and a powerful tool for storytelling and self-expression. Using a wide variety of materials, children will build sturdy, multi-dimensional hand puppets from the inside out. We’ll begin by creating an armature, then sculpt and design facial features, followed by sewing costumes and painting. Each puppet will come to life through personal touches such as hair, jewels, crowns, and other imaginative embellishments. Students are encouraged to bring special treasures from home to incorporate into their creations. If time allows, we’ll also design miniature matchbox puppet theaters to inspire ongoing play and storytelling beyond the classroom.
