Hailing from the Twin Cities of Minnesota, popular rock band Pullstring’s brand of MN power pop is influenced by many artists throughout the decades and brings what fans call “nostalgic vibes'' to listeners. Their palette of sounds ranges from bittersweet melancholy to upbeat anthems and in the past couple of years they've toured relentlessly and played to packed venues around the Midwest.
A weekend opportunity to learn how Beth Lipman’s new sculpture Hive Mind intertwines the stories of Iowa State and Ames community members in a massive installation. Enjoy time inside the exhibition, Beth Lipman: Middle of the Story, and outdoors at the sculpture, while hearing from curator Adrienne Gennett and Ames History Museum staff members.
